JOB Description

This is a part-time position. The worship director is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the worship ministry of Oak Street Baptist Church (OSBC). This person will work under the supervision of the pastor to carry out this mission.


Expectations:

The worship director is expected to 1) be a committed follower of Jesus Christ; 2) be in agreement with OSBC’s statement of faith and become a member of OSBC; 3) be a gracious model of servant leadership to the church; 4) have adequate skill in leading worship with an instrument (piano or guitar); 5) be able to lead a blended worship service; 6) be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills.


Responsibilities:

1) Plan, in conjunction with the pastor, weekly worship services and lead the corporate worship of the church.

2) Direct the praise band of the church by conducting regular rehearsals and leading them during worship services.

3) Work with the members of OSBC's tech team to ensure that audio & visual elements of corporate worship services are functioning properly.

4) Ensure that lyrics and other visual elements are ready for each service.


Time Away:

The worship director will be responsible to coordinate with the pastor regarding any time away. Proper plans must be made for any ministry activities to be missed. Excessive absences will be addressed with the pastor and the personnel committee.


Compensation:

$200 per week / $10,400 per year
